Minister Wilson as a Psalmist
I began singing as a teenager with a choir that my uncle established in the church. We would go from church to church singing and worshipping the Lord.
Although I sung in the choir as a teenager, I didn't receive Christ until the age of nineteen. When I graduated from college I began to do solos in the church. Even at that time I didn't realize the gift of singing that God had given me.
After being married I can remember only one choir that I sung in that made a significant impact on my spiritual life and God begin to draw me closer to Him.
As my relationship with the Lord became close and intimate, worship became a big part of my life. It's not about just singing and performing any longer, but it is about a lifestyle of close intimacy with the Father. When we live that kind of lifestyle the anointing easily flows when you are singing to magnify God.
When I moved back to Dallas in 2001, the worship leader gave the invitation for me to sing in the choir. Although, I was going through a healing process and the enemy wanted to prevent me from being a part of the choir, I chose to move beyond the fear barriers that didn't want me to connect with other believers.
I joined the choir at Heartland Church, under the leadership of Pastor Dan Dean and Worship Leader, Alvin Fruga. Pastor Dan is a professional contemporary singer with Phillips, Craig and Dean. I learned to love the contemporary music which was quite different from my previous style of music.
Pastor Dean and the our Worship Leader, Pastor Fruga would take us to TBN on various occasions to sing. I can say we were very exuberant singers and enjoyed pumping eachother up with excitement as we sung.
Sunday mornings was always a time to excitement as we sung, we looked forward to the surprises of the anointing that would flow as we worshipped.
Joining the choir in 2002 was a significant pivotal point, God restored my talent and gift of singing. My love for worship increased beyond what I could ever explain. My confidence to sing took on a whole new level in spite of any obstacles that came my way. God continued to do a character transformation in me and I am so thankful.
I' m still doing solos, my heart is to just minister to the hearts of people through my singing to release healing and deliverance. To cause the people of God to look up and rejoice in Him.
Extend your invitation to me to come do something anointed and special for you!
